Skier, Shortstop, Goalie
Taylor, our grandson, is a high school junior with a passion for ski racing--training for the Vail Ski Team every day, 8:00 AM- 12:00. Then school from noon until five. Even before ski racing ends, baseball practice begins—middle infield, with shortstop his fave. Soccer goalie in the fall—if COVID-19 allows. All the while keeping up stellar grades and National Honor Society responsibilities for service to his community. Before Covid we cheered him on in person, now follow him on Zoom, Live-Timing, and Game Changer. He inspires us and keeps us young.
We are so proud of our grandson’s dedication to his goals, for his positive spirit, and undaunted effort to succeed. In addition to all the things he does, he cares deeply about family, friends, and his community—taking a stand against bullying and helping at risk students in the Sources of Strength program in school. During the summer months he participated in the Citizens Project in his city. This group advocates for the community to embrace equity, inclusion, and justice. Taylor enjoyed the responsibility of being a student member of local city government and also worked by phone and text for candidates running for State and Federal office. When we see Taylor in action, we realize that young people will have the opportunity to make our world a better place. We can hope that young leaders like Taylor will bring new energy and spirit to our country.
We love being part of Taylor’s life and watching him grow and thrive. Click on the video below to see Taylor in a video made for his school’s television station. You will enjoy watching him speed down the mountain. We love you, Taylor! Go for all of it!
