Our Gift to You

She is the light of our life, a beacon of hope, especially this year. During this holiday season she is a gift to us. The next photos show our granddaughter, Addison, performing as the Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker Ballet in 2019. This year, 2020, brought sadness for family and friends when the production could not happen because of the virus—but our memories sustain us. She is an extraordinary talent at age 13. You can see our happy celebration after the ballet in the last photo: her dad and mom in the background with Rich and me in front.

Despite the pandemic, Addison continued her ballet studies under strict and safe conditions and prepared the following piece: Aurora from Sleeping Beauty. This dance is delightful and brought a sense of peace and wonder we needed in this dark time. Please take two minutes and enjoy this video of Addison’s studio performance of this enchanting dance. This video is our gift to you.

And, by the way, as I write, this same girl, with her Vail ski team bubble, is training for racing competition—one day clocked at 70mph on a downhill run. “Don’t make me worry—tell me these speeds at the END of ski season,” said this Grandma!
