15 Comments Sorry…………
Hello all -
Sorry for missing posts. As some of you saw from my other sites I have become overwhelmed with what has mostly become a hobby. Life has gotten very busy and I need to take a break. I will start posting again and take up where the story was left off in a few weeks.
Again – apologize for this,
Rourke
Have a merry Christmas and happy New Year!! I’m sure we can all take a short break, enjoy our holidays and our families, and certainly understand that you need to do the same.
Thanks for a fun story and great adaptation to comments. Looking forward to your return, but only if you have the rest of your, ah hem, in one sock.
Here, Here Green Eyed Jim! I totally second that and agree completely with your sentiments!
Take your time Rourke, its the christmas season, and family is more important by far than writing and entertaining all of us lowly followers lol. Have a good christmas holiday season!
Ditto from me as well.
Loving the story and this diary style of writing.
Have a Merry Christmas
Rourke, understandable, but disappointing nonetheless. I am awaiting Jed’s return.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours.
Take some time. We all need a mental health break sometimes. Have a great new year!
I just finished catching up. Great story! I appreciate the shorter diary style narrative. I am looking forward to the next post.
Rourke,
I hope things have settled down for you. I keep checking back here hoping you have picked up this story again. I have thoroughly enjoyed it and hope to see more soon.
Todd
Just wonderimg when we might get “the rest of the story”? Hope everyone had a great CHRISTmas!
A tumbleweed rolls lazily through the development. Utterly devoid of human life, the area lies in a state of decay. The homes once bustling with the cacophony of man’s little conveniences are now silent, save the melodies of the birds and the angry chattering of squirrels, the sole tenants.
What events transpired here? We may never fully know. Archaeologists have unearthed the writings of a survivor of the Event. In his journal, Jed details the daily events of his life following the disaster. Unfortunately, it would appear that the record is incomplete. The final entry available describes a more or less normal day. After this, however, we know nothing of what befell the band of survivors. Did disease ravage their settlement? Were they beset by the hostilities of a violent gang of attackers? Did they simply migrate from the area?
The chaotic nature of society after the attacks in North America has destroyed any other records of this little pocket of civilization. Experts agree that the abrupt end of the narrative indicates a sudden, and likely grisly, demise. Perhaps, though, we may yet uncover more information about these people, few among many of our forebears. Deep down, we all wish a happy ending for Jed and his followers.

I hear ya Derek. Good ending. Too bad it ended in this fashion. Bookmark deleted.
Derek –
That is funny.
Rourke
I’m still hoping you eventually have the opportunity and/or inspiration to continue the canon, and my little ending becomes just another bit of apocryphal fan fiction in an Internet full of apocryphal fan fiction.
Why does real life have to be so busy, anyways? I say we band together and boycott real life until it agrees to chill out once in a while.
Rourke, we know you are busy, but the show must go on.
